Choosing the Way of Truth

Michael Beck Michael Beck

“I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.” (Psalm 119:30)

Our convictions, not our desires, must form the basis of our actions. Strong desires are thwarted by stronger convictions.

What we believe will always be tested by what we feel. Until the truth of God becomes the rule of our life we will remain “unstable as water.” To be established in a good habit we must consistently resist the temptation to speak or act because we “feel like it.”

Change doesn’t take place overnight. It comes slowly to the best of us. It comes by God’s help; but not without our cooperation. We must choose the way God has laid out for us by His Spirit and in His Word.

Build the way you live on something greater than how you feel in the moment. Seek and find out what God has to say about all things. Commit yourself to knowing and walking in His truth. You will regret letting passion overtake you. You will never be ashamed that you chose the way of truth.
