“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” (Psalm 34:1)
Must God guarantee us happiness? Is He obligated to answer our prayers our way? Are we entitled to the blessings we want? Is God evil and unworthy of our worship if He lets us suffer?
His Son was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. He prayed not My will, but Thine be done. He deserved life’s richest blessings, but endured the worst curse. And He worshipped the Father, who was pleased to bruise Him for our sakes. (Isa. 53:10)
Do you love God? Then you will love Him always. You will love Him in the best and worst of times. You will worship Him in laughter and in tears. You will bless and give Him thanks always and in all things. You will believe that nothing, nothing, can ever separate you from His love in Christ Jesus. And you will know and trust that somehow, and in some way, He is blending every thing that happens to you together for good.
At the end of the day, you will be satisfied that the greatest good in your life is to be made into a carbon copy of God’s blessed Son – who worshipped and loved the Father in this earth filled with joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain. You will not demand exemption from what all of creation experiences. You will not expect exclusion from carrying a cross. You will bless God for giving you your own unique opportunity to walk as Jesus walked, worship as Jesus worshipped, and love as Jesus loved.
You will not fail God because you are certain that God will never fail you.
